Grade 8 Math

This math class will be using the Ready grade 8 program to support our math curriculum in preparation for high school level math.

 

We will start the year with some geometry concepts, and then move on to some basic algebra skills that will help support students as they pursue Algebra I next school year.

 

We will practice a balance of full group, small group, and independent work in this math class.  Students will find that some of the concepts they are learning this year in math class will connect to their science and social studies classes in some interdisciplinary projects our team will be working on.

 

Students can expect to have daily homework in math class, though most days there is time provided to start the homework in class where support is available should students have questions about any of the assigned problems.
